The Prado Group recently announced that it has signed a lease with Trader Joe’s www.traderjoes.com for its site at the corner of California and Hyde in San Francisco’s Nob Hill District.
The project, located at 1401 California Street, will replace the last remaining Cala Foods Market that has been serving the location since 1960. Trader Joe’s will occupy 14,000 square feet, a CVS www.cvs.com drug store is planned to occupy 11,000 square feet.
The existing building will undergo renovation in preparation for the re-tenanting of the space. The Prado Group plans to start renovation in January 2012 after Cala Foods closes their store on December 3, 2011.
Although there is no set timeline for the Trader Joe’s opening, the rest of this year will be spent obtaining city approval for renovation of the building, and a new grocery store could be opened in the latter half 2012.
Prado looks forward to providing more details regarding the project over the coming months.
Note: The project website is managed by Prado Group and not Trader Joe’s or CVS. The Prado Group will be responsible for answering any questions that are submitted to this website.
